Twitter is a microblogging style platform that is targeted more towards millennials.

Lastly, there is Instagram which is seen as an everything platform where you can post both videos and photos in a multitude of ways. Instagram has a user base of over 1 billion active monthly users who fall part of a much larger demographic from teens all the way to their parents.

Use influencers

Influencers are the celebrities of social media and have masses of followers who are loyal to them. One of the best ways to market your brand on social media is to make use of influencers and take advantage of the massive following they have.

This can be don’t by sponsoring some of their content in return for a small advertisement, or even sending them some of your products to try out in the hopes they will share positive reviews with their audience.

Build a community

On every social media platform you decide to make use of for your marketing, you should always try to build a community. This means you grow your audience through organic marketing and create a sense of loyalty among your audience.

A great way to do this is to figure out what niche you fall part of and adjusting your content to suit the people who also fall part of this niche.

Being part of a niche is so important as it allows you to create content and cater it directly to an audience that you know will like your business or brand. This is a great way to grow your account.

Don’t over-sell

Many people think that social media marketing is just like traditional marketing in that you can just post advertisements about your new products and this will be good enough.

It is important to remember that social media is a place where people come to be entertained, and if you are just hard selling to your audience this might make you lose out on engagement and potential followers because you are not entertaining.

You should always keep some form of entertainment in your content with sporadic advertisements for your products, to not only get followers but also if you are trying to sell something.
